On November 17, 2010 the US State Department published another annual International Religious Freedom Report. Naturally, one of the chapters is devoted to Russia. While explicitly advocating the interests of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Scientologists, Seventh-day Adventists, non-authorized ‘Islamic’ preachers and other sects, the document states:
“In July 2009 a group of academics, human rights advocates, and parents began collecting signatures for an appeal to President Medvedev protesting against “clericalization of general schools.” In October 2009 at the opening of the Fifth Annual International Conference on Religion, Conflict, and Peace at Saint Petersburg State University, students organized an anticlerical campaign and distributed leaflets.”
But there was no remark in the report that this appeal has never received any support from Russian public and so was NOT sent to President. I personally haven’t even heard last summer about this initiative. The author of the appeal, a certain Vladimir Abdrashitov, is an absolutely unknown person in Russia. The petition was not signed by any influential ‘academic’ or ‘human rights advocate’. The Russian Public Chamber has expressly endorsed the 2009 Presidential decision to introduce the course on history of religions in Russian public schools.
There was neither a mention that all anti-Christian or anti-Muslim campaigns in Russia face harsh and overwhelming condemnation here. If you compare the average numbers of gay-marchers, journalists and security personnel protecting these geeks from outraged bystanders that would be a funny proportion. The total number of students who ‘organized an anticlerical campaign and distributed leaflets’ in Saint Petersburg last year was TWO. Interestingly, they were a known homosexual pair, and they were thrown out of the conference hall immediately after the escapade.
Alexander Sotnichenko, Senior Analyst for the St. Petersburg Modern Middle East Research Centre and Associate Professor of Department of International Relations (St. Petersburg State University) has commented this report:
“I’m not surprised that the State Department has drawn attention to these particular facts but not the general trend of notable increase in the Russian Church parishioners, huge number of new cathedrals under construction, multiple Christian Youth conferences being held in Russia and so on. I’ve repeatedly said that the U.S. seeks for chaotization of Eurasia including Russia. They are very concerned by the fact that the Russian Orthodox Church is still the most powerful consolidating force in Russia. So they will keep supporting any anti-clerical and immoral groupings and individuals aspiring to weaken and corrupt Russian society.”
“The students who committed the provocation in Saint Petersburg claim they are the stalwarts of neo-Trotskyism and neoliberalism. The modern American and European societies are already infected by these ideologies and propagate them worldwide. The root of these ideologies is crystal clear.”
“Any provocation has a financial source. There are plenty of international ‘humanitarian’ foundations providing donations to sects, ‘anti-clerical’ and ‘human rights’ associations in Russia that just work off the money. None of these foundations has a mere sign of objectivity when supporting different social organizations. If the US State Department draws international attention to an insignificant freak of two pederasts, the Russians have no doubt about who inspired that act.”
This is the second time I’ve encountered an allegation of sodomy on this website. What is precisely the context of Oriental Review’s problem with the practise? Is it based on religious grounds, or perhaps a socialist leftover from the struggle against “Western decadence”? Which quaint mechanism is at work in disqualifying people’s political beliefs on the basis of what goes on in the privacy of their bedrooms?

First, I never post ‘allegations’ of sodomy. I openly and categorically condemn this, as you call it, ‘practice’. I strongly believe that any human right can be based on human Dignity only and there is no dignity in sin. I do not struggle ‘Western decadence’. Their decadence is the problem of the West. I just want to show that there is no way to contaminate Russia and (hopefully) many other countries with the bacilli of moral corruption…
Muslims in Russia (15-20 million), like in the US (8-11 million) – are the largest religious minority. However, in bot countries they’re treated like the Jews were persecuted in Europe in the past. Daily false-flag operations are carried in both countries to demonize Muslims. The US is occupying Muslim Afghanistan and Iraq while Russians are occupying Chechnya.

Russia is NOT a part of contemporary liberal Europe which is an appendix to the US&UK-based global elites. We are under constant ideological pressure by European parliament as well. Hopefully Russian ruling class will not surrender to them.

In spite of the misuse of Hindu and Buddhist texts by Blavatsky, orthodox Hinduism, Sanatana Dharma is the mother of Christianity and it is only through each religion understanding its mother, that true tolerance will be established.
Hinduism also teaches the ONE.
Religions must reinforce what is correct in each other and critique what is wrong, but all must unite against liberal errors of contemporary modernity.
