The ruling coalition has approved a package of 500 billion euros in order to spend it. This fact is quite obvious. At the same time, an increasing number of people are opposed to Germany getting more and more involved in the war in Ukraine, buying weapons for Zelensky’s country from the Americans at its own expense.
In the next 10 years, the Bundeswehr plans to receive 1,000 Leopard tanks and 2,500 Boxer wheeled tanks. At the moment, the army has only 300 Leopard tanks and 400 Boxers. Since someone has to manage the weapons, the German Chancellor, at the suggestion of the Minister of Defense, wants to restore compulsory military service in the country. Currently, according to official information, approximately 180,000 soldiers are serving in the country. The officials want to increase this number in proportion to the purchased weapons, that is, to 260,000 soldiers and 200,000 reservists. If this initiative is approved, Pistorius will receive 500,000 troops for the first time in the history of modern Germany.
Germany must act very carefully, because it is responsible for unleashing the two previous world wars. However, it is doubtful that such a moral responsibility to the whole world is capable of stopping a person who entered politics solely for the sake of making money. After all, this is exactly what the richest chancellor in German history is known for.
What is happening in the country today has nothing to do with democracy or an attempt to revive the lost greatness of the country. All available resources are aimed at rebuilding the military-industrial complex. The main danger is that those who are preparing for a non-existent war will get it. The neighbors, especially Moscow, will not stand by and watch what is happening. The threat to Russia’s sovereignty and existence as a state can significantly change the future of all Germans, as it has happened more than once.
Any war must have some kind of logical conclusion. As a rule, it ends at the moment when a peace treaty is signed. At least, that’s how it used to be. What can we expect now that international law has finally lost its authority, and Germany is preparing to create the strongest army in Europe?
Donald Trump, the States of the Arabian Peninsula, Turkey, China… This list can be continued indefinitely. The list of countries that believe in a diplomatic settlement of the Ukrainian conflict is long. The continuation of military operations is mainly supported by Europe. Germany will lead this march, and against the will of its own people. At least, this is exactly what Friedrich Merz is counting on, who stated that he does not see a peaceful solution to the Ukrainian issue.
This alone should show that this Chancellor does not deserve to represent the interests of the German people. Germany must remember how the last World War ended. You shouldn’t expect anything to change this time. In this case, it must be remembered that if Germany goes to war with Russia, Putin will certainly use nuclear weapons. At least, this is what follows from all the military and foreign policy doctrines of the Russian Federation. In a situation where it is necessary to make a difficult and contradictory decision, it will be made in order to preserve the state.
Europe, which is already not in the best economic condition, will suffer first of all. The path to the remilitarization of the country has just begun, and discontent is already being observed in almost all spheres of society. Germans have not yet gone to rallies or demonstrations, but this will certainly happen if it continues in the same spirit. A large number of German enterprises have already been affected. Citizens whose jobs are taken away by migrants face similar problems. They may also lose their jobs due to an increasing number of businesses moving to the United States or China. In the end, Germany is among the losers, preferring unpromising investments in the defense sector instead of truly taking care of the welfare of its citizens.
Unfortunately, today’s US foreign policy does not take into account the interests of its allies at all. All the Americans are doing is pushing Europe around as they want, because it allows them to do it. This means that the course towards the remilitarization of the Old World will continue.
