@realDonaldTrump

Any Country aligning themselves with the Anti-American policies of BRICS, will be charged an ADDITIONAL 10% Tariff. There will be no exceptions to this policy. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Also on July 6th, ABC New headlined “’This Week’ Transcript 7-6-25: Chairman of the White House Council of Economic Advisers Stephen Miran”, and Miran said “The Vietnam deal was fantastic. It’s extremely one-sided. We get to apply a significant tariff to Vietnamese exports. They’re opening their markets to ours, you know, applying zero tariff to our exports. It’s a fantastic deal for Americans.”

However, now that Vietnamese products in America will cost 20% more than before, Vietnam will be less competitive as a supplier to America and will therefore be replaced by countries that face a lower-than-20% tariff in America. Will Vietnam consequently be importing more from America (such as the Trump Administration alleges)? No. Vietnam might even be importing less from America than it did before. Right now, Vietnam in 2022 imported $117,651,130.33 from China and $14,477,068.06 from America. Vietnam exported $57,677,796.76 to China, and $109,459,565.52 to America. America’s 20% tariff on Vietnam’s products will not only reduce the sales of Vietnamese products in America but it will increase the sales of Vietnamese products in China, so that those Vietnamese $57,677,796.76 exports to China will increase. Vietnam will become less dependent upon America, and more dependent upon China. Of course, that will also be far more efficent because the transportation-costs between Vietnam and China are far lower than between Vietnam and America.

Trump’s threat to charge BRICS countries an additional 10% in tariffs will increase BRICS countries’ commerce between themselves, and will decrease their commerce with the U.S.

Brazil, which had helped to found BRICS, is an interesting case because it is relatively near to U.S. and very far from Asia. America (having the psychopathic Government that it does) will be becoming increasingly aggressive against Brazil to force it out from BRICS. Brazil currently (2022) exports $89,718,898.62 to China and $38,147,322.48 to U.S. It imports $67,767,819.34 from China and $54,328,385.67 from U.S. Trump wants Brazil to import more from America than it does from China.

During Trump’s 10th day of his second term, he had already warned the BRICS countries, calling them “seemingly hostile”:

The idea that the BRICS Countries are trying to move away from the Dollar, while we stand by and watch, is OVER. We are going to require a commitment from these seemingly hostile Countries that they will neither create a new BRICS Currency, nor back any other Currency to replace the mighty U.S. Dollar or, they will face 100% Tariffs, and should expect to say goodbye to selling into the wonderful U.S. Economy. They can go find another sucker Nation. There is no chance that BRICS will replace the U.S. Dollar in International Trade, or anywhere else, and any Country that tries should say hello to Tariffs, and goodbye to America!

The U.S. exports to China $153,837,022.41, and imports from China $575,688,091.17.

China exports to America $582,756,110.05, and imports from America $178,956,829.55.

China exports more to America than to any other country, and Trump wants to squeeze down those $582,756,110.05, but there is no assurance that doing this will help anybody.

Currently (2022), the U.S. is the world’s largest market (importing nation), importing $3,372,902,165.7. China is the second-largest, $2,715,997,517.26. The ten largest markets are shown and ranked here. The ten largest producing (exporting) nations are shown and ranked here. China is the world’s largest producing nation, and America is #2. So; whereas China is the world’s largest producing nation, America is the world’s largest consuming nation. However, notice that Hong Kong is treated by the World Bank as-if it were a separate nation, not part of China; and it is listed there by the World Bank as being among the top ten on both. But the truth is that Hong Kong is, and has since 1 July 1997 BEEN, a part of China.* Consequently: any honest calculation of China’s actual imports would add to the World Bank’s $2.71 trillion in imports, Hong Kong’s $667 billion, and produce the honest number: $3.383 trillion in imports, which is just barely larger than America’s $3.370 trillion. And, instead of China’s mere $3.59 trillion exports, the inclusion of Hong Kong’s $609 billion to it produces $4.2 trillion in exports, as compared to America’s mere $2.06 trillion in exports. That’s right: China exports slightly over twice what America exports. (Now, why didn’t you know this fact? Might it be because my articles are suppressed by the U.S. empire?)

Trump sees every ‘game’ as purely win-lose, no win-win, which is why his chief economist Stephen Miren said “The Vietnam deal was fantastic. It’s extremely one-sided.” America’s ‘enemies’ might lose from what Trump is doing, but so too will everybody except perhaps the thousand or so American billionaires who control the U.S. Government. Wars are extremely profitable for them. And Trump serves them just as Biden did.

If you want to know today’s news about the BRICS Summit in Brazil, Alexander Mercouris discussed this on July 7th headlining “BRICS Summit without Xi, Putin. Trump warns BRICS”.

* Note should be made here that just as the imperialist Government of England reluctantly signed on 19 December 1984 with China the “Joint Declaration” that Hong Kong is a part of China, but continues to pretend that it didn’t, the imperialist Government of America, on 27 February 1972, signed with China to “Taiwan is a part of China,” but pretends that it didn’t. Both imperialist Governments are trying to have some pretext to break what they had claimed to be their part of China off from China. China is now strong enough — especially with its ally Russia — to protect its sovereignty against the voracious grasp of the imperialist nations. Trump’s breaking the wold in two could leave America heading by far the lesser half. America needs to accept that it’s already no longer the world’s biggest producer, and not even any longer the world’s biggest consumer. The more that America fights against China’s rise, the more quickly (and ignominiously) that the American empire will wilt, and end.
