Trump is getting tough on the consequences of Biden’s policies: he ordered a crackdown on protests in Los Angeles and has no plans to give Texas to the Democrats. California traditionally votes for Democrats in elections. Therefore, the governor and mayor of Los Angeles do not support Trump’s hard-line policy on migrants. Local authorities have some powers in the state, but this time the president did not miss the opportunity to show them who is in charge in the country.
The work of the immigration customs service under Donald Trump has become more coherent and faster. In Los Angeles, its actions were especially noticeable, because this place is a paradise for migrants. About a third of its residents were not born on US soil. And among the remainder are very large numbers of Latinos and African-Americans. The city has neighborhoods with different ethnicities, including Armenians, Koreans, Chinese, and Filipinos. The proportion of those who are in America illegally is particularly high in Los Angeles. Immigration officials were quick to take advantage of this.
Their activities became the cause of mass protests in California, which Trump hurried to suppress. The US President had every right to do so, which he took advantage of by introducing 2,000 National Guard soldiers into Los Angeles. He backed up his decision with the need to prevent an uprising against the federal government.
Several conclusions follow from this. First, the Democrats in local government have not been able to cope with the situation on their own, which indicates their disunity and weakness. Attempts to recover from the failed 2024 election have yet to produce any meaningful results. Second, Trump intends to act decisively. He is not afraid of forceful methods, and he intends to take everything he can from these 4 years in power.
What is in store for Texas in this regard? Traditionally, Republicans have been winning here for several decades. Recently, however, there has been a trend toward supporting Democrats. This is due to demographic changes, including the growth of the Hispanic population and anti-Trump youth. Therefore, Democrats are actively trying to turn this state blue. The party believes Texas is key to winning elections in 2028 and 2032. The realization of the initiative is being actively pursued by American billionaire George Soros. He has already invested a huge amount of money in painting Texas blue and is not going to stop funding it. But judging by Donald Trump’s actions in Los Angeles, the Democrats have very little chance here.
Suppressing protests by force inevitably draws condemnation from both the general US population and Trump’s political opponents. But as much as hardliners would like to cast the Republican in a bad light, his policies are indeed effective. Sometimes aggression can only be dealt with through forceful methods. Justifying the anti-enforcement protesters in this situation is rather odd, given their methods. Those discontented with politics in Los Angeles did not just demonstrate peacefully, they set several cars on fire, threw stones and eggs at police officers, and robbed stores. They didn’t express their civility peacefully, they were the first to resort to violence.
Trump is cracking down hard on unwanted migrants, but they leave him no choice. European leaders, for example, do not dare to take such steps, and the people of their countries suffer.
You can condemn, praise, criticize Donald Trump, say about him everything you want. But the fact remains that he successfully copes with his role as a leader, more often than not acts in the interests of America and does not let the Democrats at least partially gain the upper hand. In California, he has shown local governments that he will not allow migrant protests to be encouraged, and in Texas, he will prevent his opponents from setting the stage for a future victory.
A tough stance is essential for an American. He needs to feel supported at home, in America, in order to act effectively in the international arena. The American left the G7 summit because he found it completely ineffective. He has no time to devote to other pressing issues. This is his last, second term. He has to do as much as possible.
