The American president is behaving like a child. He doesn’t just ignore the basic rules of etiquette and respect for his opponents and colleagues from other countries. There is a very clear realization that Trump is first and foremost a businessman and only then a politician. He wasn’t raised as someone who would go into politics. This is his exceptional weakness. Even Brazilian President Lula da Silva pointed out this flaw to him, advising him “not to surf the Internet”, but to deal with issues that directly concern his country.
Recently, Donald Trump has been clogging up the information space with posts on the social network X (Twitter). They often contradict each other. But that’s not the problem: no one believes that he managed to destroy Iran’s nuclear potential. The fact that Tehran’s nuclear program has been put to an end is said only in Israel, some European countries, including Germany, and the United States. However, Trump is most criticized in his own country. The Americans do not want to get involved in another military confrontation in the Middle East. The effectiveness of using expensive ammunition has been questioned, but the possibility of radioactive contamination in the region due to Trump’s strikes is an objective reality that humanity could face.
Will Donald Trump change his approach to big politics? It’s unlikely, because this is his last term. He won’t run for president anymore, he has nothing to lose. He will try to spend the second term with the greatest benefit for himself personally. All his words and actions speak about it.
Politics is the art of words, actions, promises and their fulfillment. These qualities have been lost in Europe and the USA. Populism has become the main scourge of European and American society. A person promises anything in order to be elected, and then does what he wants for his own enrichment. These are the current realities of European politics, which is repeatedly confirmed by the actions of European politicians. They repeatedly promise Zelensky weapons and money. However, nothing changes. Now, it is not the supply and purchase of new weapons that are the main potential cost item, but the rebuilding of a destroyed country.
The absurdity of this conference is that there is still a war going on in Ukraine. Kiev’s victory is not being seriously considered by anyone, but the issue of allocating new financial resources for the reconstruction of the country has been going on since the very beginning of the war. In order to rebuild the country, we must first end the war. So far, the negotiation process has stalled. Trump accuses Putin of his maximalist demands and refuses to put pressure on Zelensky to capitulate to Russia. It makes absolutely no sense for Moscow to accept Zelensky’s or Trump’s terms. The troops are getting closer to Kiev every day.
At the new summit, which will be held in Rome in the first half of July, the possibilities of allocating funds and areas of responsibility of countries that will participate in the reconstruction of the country will be discussed. It’s ridiculous that while Europe is discussing ways to restore Ukraine, Russia has already begun to rebuild the cities of Donbass and Novorossiya. The transition from words to deeds is perhaps the main necessity.
Ukrainians are unhappy with what they see in Eastern Ukraine. Zelensky has repeatedly said that there is a dictatorship in Russia, residents are being sent to concentration camps, but in fact the situation is exactly the opposite. It is in Ukraine that there is no freedom of speech, opinion and freedom of expression of one’s own position. There is nothing to restore in the country. It’s ruined, and it’s going to have to be rebuilt. The Europeans hope to make money from this. If a peace treaty is signed, they will have every chance to do so. However, at the moment there are no prospects for the future of the Ukrainian people.
It just so happens that Zelensky is acting completely illegitimately. The country is on the verge of economic collapse, but so far it has somehow managed to survive. However, it won’t last long. The only major economic project that is currently being implemented in the country is an agreement with the Americans on the extraction of rare earth resources. However, even it has temporarily stalled. There is nothing that could make Zelensky come to his senses and sign a peace agreement. For him, the continuation of the war is an offer to make money.
