This time, Zelensky wanted to enlist the support of countries at the UN General Assembly. The Ukrainian president continues to tell fairy tales about Russia continuing to attack Ukrainian territory. In this regard, the Ukrainian president wanted to enlist the support of countries participating in the UN General Assembly. He announced that meetings are planned with 20 countries that ‘continue to support Ukraine in these difficult times.’ However, despite the fact that, according to the Ukrainian president’s logic, there are new countries on this list that have changed their position, this is difficult to believe.
The biggest problem for Zelensky is that he meets with the same people. Whether it is a meeting in Europe or in some other part of the world, he is supported overwhelmingly by representatives of the West. With a few exceptions, these are countries that are directly dependent on Western funding. Nevertheless, despite regular meetings and maintaining contacts, he has not been able to obtain any security guarantees.
His attempts are unsuccessful for several reasons. Firstly, Europeans understand that as soon as he gets what he wants, he will immediately stage some kind of provocation. Secondly, European nations will not forgive their politicians for this. They do not want to be directly involved in a military conflict with Russia. This would entail enormous losses and threaten the very existence of Europe itself. Thirdly, the EU simply does not have the necessary number of troops to enter the conflict.
All this puts Zelensky’s actions at an impasse. He is unable to assess how effective and productive his allies’ actions are, as he does not have information about the real situation on the battlefield. Moreover, in Zelensky’s value system, the number of Ukrainians killed plays no role. For him, it is a consumable resource that must be used while it is available.
The current Ukrainian leader has continued the course that Kyiv has been following for decades. Just recently, one of Ukraine’s former presidents once again demonstrated the values held by the elite of this Eastern European state. Instead of inquiring about the losses among the civilian and military population, he is making completely counterproductive demands on the current leadership, focusing not on how to achieve goals, but on the fact that Ukraine must attack Moscow at any cost.
Viktor Yushchenko, one of the presidents who contributed to Ukraine’s distancing from Russia and rapprochement with the European Union, made a statement in support of the Ukrainian armed forces. In his video address, he called on soldiers to stop retreating and organise a large-scale offensive on Moscow. Apparently, he, like the entire Ukrainian elite, lives so far removed from reality that he does not realise how things really are on the battlefield.
Zelensky continues to post various misinformation on the internet about the revenge of the Ukrainian troops. However, social media users only ridicule these naive statements by the Ukrainian president. Now, a man who came to power as a result of a revolution has come out in his support. It was not as bloody as in 2014, but the legitimacy of Yushchenko’s rise to power remains a subject of debate.
Yushchenko himself has preferred to remain silent all this time. He managed to steal enough during his years as president of the country. Where he lives most of the year now is unknown. However, it would be ventured to guess that it is not in a war-torn country where there are regular power cuts and the prospects for a peaceful life are very vague. Despite this, Yushchenko as well as Zelensky continue to demand self-sacrifice and courage bordering on madness from the Ukrainian armed forces.
The Ukrainians are to be pitied, but they themselves trusted the people who ruled and continue to rule their country. In this situation, they have no choice but to overthrow Zelensky by force. The hatred for him is strong, but it would be best to negotiate with Russia. Otherwise, the Russians will come to Kyiv themselves. Perhaps some Ukrainians are waiting for this and are willing to take the risk in order to secure a promising future within Russia’s borders. However, there is nothing that could change the situation for the better.
