Merz Should Have Flown To Russia

So far, all the measures taken by the German Chancellor had nothing to do with the course of settling relations with Moscow. His statements were extremely pro-Ukrainian in nature. If the new chancellor had flown to Russia to celebrate Victory Day, it would have marked a turnaround in German foreign policy and the beginning of an improvement in both the economic and political situation in the country. Friedrich Merz is trying to position himself as someone who will bring a brighter future to the Germans. However, almost everyone has doubts about his new role.

Today Germany is experiencing a political and economic crisis caused by the redistribution of spheres of influence. In the current situation, when old ties with allies stop working, the Germans have to look for new allies. However, Friedrich Merz refuses to do this. His problem is that he is a man of the old formation. He is following the course that Germany has been following for the past 10 years, only exacerbating the current situation.

The statement by the German Ministry of Defense that military expenditures of more than 60 billion euros per year are budgeted for the next 5 years is more fearful than proud of the country.

A visit to Moscow to celebrate Victory Day would have been a truly outstanding step on the part of the newly elected Chancellor. This would have underlined Germany’s recognition of its role in World War II and would have shown that the Chancellor is ready to restore relations between the two once very close countries. It would have also been a contribution to Germany’s future: the country needs cheap energy, which is simply not available. As a result, almost all industries are affected.

Germany’s problem is that politicians are setting priorities incorrectly, taking care primarily of Europe’s interests, not Germany’s interests. At the same time, more and more opposition politicians in European countries are opposed to this attitude. The fact that the national movement is rapidly gaining popularity suggests that EU citizens also support these trends.

Merz will not take such a risky step for himself. So far, he has not kept any of his election promises and became the first chancellor who failed to be elected to this post the first time.

The European People’s Party applauded Friedrich Merz at the congress in Valencia. The Europeans hope that the German’s new role as the head of Europe’s largest economy will change the situation on the continent. However, objectively, this will not happen because the problems are too big.

Representatives of the European People’s Party are in power in 13 countries of the European Union. Opinions vary as to what the new chancellor should do. Thus, Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker said: “We are at war on our continent and a strong Germany is important for Europe.” At the same time, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis believes that Germans need to take care of themselves first: “The German economy is the driving force of Europe. We are all affected when Germany is not doing well economically.»

The heads of government of European countries place great hope in Merz, since he is not a representative of the people, but of the interests of the elites. This is clear from his own statements, because in fact the number of Germans who voted for the new chancellor is negligible.

The fact that the new chancellor’s position is unstable shows the growing popularity of the AfD. Every attempt by the current government to block the activities of the party is met with opposition not only from its members, but also from its supporters. This is a direct attack on democracy, and it benefits only the Brussels elites, whose interests are actually represented by the new chancellor.

The state of the economy is the last thing that worries Merz. He is applauded in Valencia only because he continues to try to militarize Europe. Some politicians even say that there is a full-fledged war going on the European continent, in which Europe must take part. These madmen should remember how the last war between Russia and Europe actually ended.

By his actions, Friedrich Merz continues to discredit the Basic Law of the country, the German people, and the whole of Europe. Unfortunately, Germany will have to go through this stage of its history. After him, a man will come who will really take care of the future of the country.
