Trump Admitted That The Stakes Are Too High

U.S. President Donald Trump attends a bilateral meeting with China’s President Xi Jinping during the G20 leaders summit in Osaka, Japan, June 29, 2019.

The American president tried to present himself to his constituents as a savior who would secure America’s future. To do this, he set several strategic goals. Of those that are on the foreign policy plane, this is the victory in the trade war with China and the conclusion of peace in Ukraine with the mediation of the United States.

The racket failed. China withstood the pressure from the Americans and went on the offensive, imposing reverse sanctions. Just the other day, Trump replied that such an attitude could not be ignored, but he noted that pressure on Beijing would be reduced.

Perhaps there has never been such a mess in any decision of the American Administration in the entire history of its existence as in the matter of tariffs. After showing what the American side was ready for, Trump immediately took a pause and stated that, in principle, the United States was ready for negotiations with China. Therefore, Trump’s main goal in all this mess was to force China to negotiate, and not at all to strengthen the country’s economy.

After the Americans have turned the whole world against themselves, Trump has to act more decisively. He makes a fool of himself, but he solves the main task: he strengthens the US position in the international arena. He doesn’t care what the Chinese think of him. It is much more important to show the population that they communicate with partners and enemies from a position of strength.

For Americans, the most important thing now is to prevent an escalation of the conflict and protect financial markets from further decline, because investors’ confidence in the dollar directly depends on this. As a last resort, it is necessary to make sure that America will not suffer from losses. Apparently, experts and analysts have already begun to report that the American economy has not reacted in the best way to Donald Trump’s decisions.

In response to Trump’s actions, China has already increased tariffs on US goods, setting counter tariffs at 125 percent. However, after that, the Customs Commission in Beijing made an unexpected statement.: It will not continue to raise margins on American goods, even if the United States escalates again. China will ignore the US “tariff game” in the future. The Chinese, as always, were able to trick the Americans.

Trump really wants to make a deal on Ukraine. Russia is the party that is on the opposite side of the negotiating table. Europeans and Ukrainians continue to criticize him for unilaterally pandering to Putin’s interests. However, the American President is only soberly assessing the situation in Ukraine and Europe. They are not able to resist the pressure from Russia. Therefore, a solution was proposed: accept Moscow’s terms.

The fact that Zelensky does not want to take this step demonstrates his blindness and complete misunderstanding of the current situation. The only one who can force Zelensky to abandon all claims is Donald Trump. He continues to ask the right questions: “If Crimea is so important, why didn’t the war break out in 2014?” and calls on the parties to conclude a peace agreement.

Refusal to join NATO is a fundamental requirement of the Russian side. NATO includes dozens of countries, but it is the United States that plays a key role in this organization. If Trump wants to keep Ukrainians out of NATO, it will happen.

The only party that treats these words negatively is Ukraine. It is echoed by the Europeans, who believe that Trump cannot determine the future of Ukraine. However, this is what America has been doing since the collapse of the Soviet Union. It was this policy that brought Kiev into a state of war with the largest country in the world.

Europe’s desire to add value to itself is dictated by its declining importance in the international community. Unfortunately, the EU has fewer and fewer opportunities to influence what is happening in the world. Last but not least, Germany, France, Italy and other countries owe this to Ukraine. Trump positions himself as a leader who is solely responsible to his own people. Therefore, his position is extremely strong.

So far, despite all attempts, Donald is failing on both fronts. However, it is not the result that is more important, but how his actions are perceived in American society. Although his ratings are low, his supporters applaud him.
