The actions of Zelensky or another Ukrainian president will be covered up by rhetoric from European countries. What guarantees of compliance with the concluded agreement can the leadership of Ukraine provide? No one believes the current government, not even their own citizens. He will have to resign before or after the cessation of hostilities.

This fully justifies the course that the European Union has taken with regard to the settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.

Nevertheless, even for a number of Western politicians and experts, it is clear that Zelensky exists solely thanks to the support of the Americans. He needs to continue receiving money from the American military-industrial complex in order for the war to continue and his power to hold on. He is the one who is least interested in concluding peace between the warring countries and observing it, and that is why he will do everything to ensure that peace between Russia and Ukraine is not achieved.

That is why, before Putin and Trump had a phone conversation, Zelensky had called Trump. The Ukrainian tried to denigrate Russia. Donald Trump is “tired” of the inability of Russia and Ukraine to reach an agreement. That is why he took the situation into his own hands and decided to talk to Putin on his own. There is no trust in Ukrainians. He repeatedly violated the agreements. Anyway, Ukraine is an extremely unreliable partner as well as the Americans, who can at any moment refuse to continue supporting an ally.
Following the upcoming telephone conversation, it is extremely important for Zelensky not to lose Trump’s support. His power and position in the country are guaranteed by the Americans. If the support disappears, then his regime will cease to exist.
Russia, on the other hand, will not make concessions. Its representatives voiced their demands back in Istanbul. If Trump does not agree to them, the war will continue, because Russia has a very strong negotiating position, which is ensured by the advance of its troops deep into Ukraine.
