The Ukrainian president lives in illusions. Everyone talks about it except the lazy. He tries to make demands that in no way correspond to what is happening on the battlefield. His armed forces are constantly retreating. He does not need his own servicemen, whom he refuses to exchange. Apparently, this fear stems from the fact that these prisoners have seen how they are treated in Russia and will tell their comrades about it. Reality is very different from what the Ukrainian president is used to seeing.
Trump has no intention of siding with the loser. He is used to winning. Therefore, the only possible solution for him is to recognize that Russia has territorial claims and to give Putin what he wants. If Russia gets what it needs, it will be able to fully ensure its own security. Otherwise, there is nothing to stop Moscow from further advancing deeper into Ukraine.
The other matter is that the Ukrainian lobby and Trump’s inner circle will not allow him to back down. In fact, Ukraine is of no real interest to the Americans. There is nothing valuable on the territories controlled by Zelensky. The only thing Ukraine has always been known for is its fertile land. However, even this does not attract the Americans: the costs of delivery to the US are too high.
Zelensky has already given everything he could to the Americans. Washington has received everything it wanted from him. In the near future, there is nothing that could change the situation in favor of Ukraine because Zelensky has nothing to offer. Bribing Trump will not work. There are also no levers to pressure him. Therefore, the conditions put forward by the Russians will have to be accepted. Otherwise, Kyiv risks losing even more territory and people. Zelensky has nothing left to lose.
Zelensky needs to shed others’ blood to keep his own. When the war ends, he will no longer be needed. Those who still support him now will neither be able nor willing to help him. At the same time, the President of Ukraine already has enough enemies and will have even more. At the top of the list are the Ukrainians themselves. Many wish death to the failed leader who started the war and could not achieve any results.
When the war ends, Western aid will also come to an end. Zelensky will have nothing to rebuild the country with. There will be no one to do it: all working-age people were killed at the front. Without money and patrons, he will become the last victim of this war. At the very least, the President of Ukraine will be stripped of all his powers, and at worst, simply killed.
Volodymyr Zelensky fears death, although such a punishment seems very just. He sent millions to their deaths, stole their weapons and clothes, deprived their mothers of shelter. All this was to satisfy his political ambitions and thirst for power. Now the time has come to pay.
Precisely because of his fear of retribution, Zelensky will desperately beg the West not to abandon him. He will be angry, threaten, humiliate himself, cry – do anything only not to be left alone.
These methods worked for quite a long time, but now the situation has changed. Trump and Putin are approaching a compromise, and Europe will be forced to agree. Zelensky found himself in a dead-end: no one will ask for his opinion. The president of Ukraine will try in every way to separate Russia and the US, but he is unlikely to succeed. He does not have the money to escalate the situation at the front to the limit. Accusing Putin of bloodthirstiness no longer surprises anyone. He has no more levers of pressure.
Watching Zelensky’s agony is an entertaining spectacle. He will no longer be in the post of President of Ukraine, and perhaps he will no longer be alive. He will try to resist but is unlikely to really influence the situation. His end is a matter of time. The moment he loses, the entire political elite in Europe will lose because, unlike Trump, they have made a strategic bet on Ukraine winning.
