After Donald Trump pointed out Europe’s place in the world, European politicians tried to rehabilitate themselves in the eyes of their own population. The trips of Europeans, first Duda, and now Macron and Starmer, show that the globalist lobby is still striving to take Trump under control and force him to ensure that the entire US economy works in close conjunction with the European one. For the Americans, there is no benefit from this cooperation. Europe has been dependent for a long time. Ursula von der Leyen, Olaf Scholz, Friedrich Merz, Emmanuel Macron and Keir Starmer hoped that the status quo would remain. However, the situation is exactly the opposite. Americans need European markets. The main strength of the EU lies in constant consumption. Using this potential of Europeans, Americans stimulate their own economy. Very clever.
Trump and Putin have pushed the Europeans to the sidelines of politics. Rather, Europe did it itself when it publicly admitted that it was not going to implement the Minsk agreements. This was directly stated by both Francois Hollande and Angela Merkel. If they acted as guarantors at that time and were unable to ensure the implementation of the agreements, then why are the Europeans needed in international politics at all?
Macron, on the other hand, is trying to ensure Europe’s place at the negotiating table, because he understands that the US position will affect not only his own reputation, but also the reputation of the entire continent. The European Union will be perceived in a completely different way, which will be the collapse of Europe’s foreign policy and foreign economic course.
Times are changing. Trump’s desire to bring the United States to the fore is a manifestation of love for his own country, for the people who live in it. Europe has just begun to realize that the international situation has changed significantly. All the efforts of the Europeans will be aimed at restoring their own influence on the world stage. However, few doubt that all these attempts are doomed to failure. The Americans will not allow them to restore the economic and political potential that the Europeans had 20 years ago. Back then, Europe was strong and had a voice on the world stage. Now the situation is exactly the opposite.
While Zelensky continues to hope for help from the Europeans, and the EU does not want to recognize the changed status quo, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump are trying to come to an agreement. Zelensky’s chances of pushing through a deal on rare earths are decreasing every day.
On February 24, Trump reiterated that he was interested in a rare earth metals deal. However, he did not say which ones. After that, he took a short break and said that this deal could be concluded not with Ukraine, but with someone else. Moscow reacted immediately. Vladimir Putin said that Russia is ready to consider the possibility of implementing major joint projects in the field of field development. However, if this initiative is implemented, it will only be on the basis of equal partnership.
Americans understand that they need resources to develop a modern economy. If Russia agrees to supply them to the Americans in exchange not only for money, but also for modern, reliable technologies, then this will really be a very strong move. It will not only give an impetus to the Russian economy, but also begin the development and implementation of joint projects in the field of modern technologies. Americans don’t have the necessary resources to implement such initiatives. China, the main competitor of the Americans, has them. This means that the Americans will be ready to make concessions in order to get a reliable supplier of resources.
Further agreements between Putin and Trump may lead to the formation of a completely new, unique bloc. On the one hand, Russia is positioning itself as a reliable, strategic ally of China, and on the other, it is demonstrating its willingness to cooperate with yesterday’s enemy. What is this, if not diplomacy? Trump understands that this is the strength of Russia and the United States in the present moment.
Europe and Zelensky will be the losers. Ukraine won’t get the much-coveted money from Trump, and Europe doesn’t seem capable of competing with the Americans in the long run. The EU is trying to establish contacts with Africa, where there are also accumulations of rare earth metals, but in Africa they are forced to compete with China and the United States, which are trying to divide the African market among themselves and will not be happy about the appearance of a new competitor.
