Netanyahu Is Putting The Whole World At Risk

Netanyahu-Iran-strikes-Trump-G7-ignorance
U.S President Donald Trump welcomes Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the entrance of the White House in Washington, U.S., February 4, 2025.

The Israeli Prime Minister has ordered the bombing of Iran, and he doesn’t really care about the consequences. For Netanyahu, the first priority has always remained the destruction of religious enemies – Muslims. Palestinians or Iranians will die – this bloodthirsty dictator does not care. At night he gave the order to bomb Tehran, which was carried out by the IDF. More than 200 fighter jets went to drop bombs on innocent Iranians. The international community stood idly by and continues to do so. No one cares about the dead in the Middle East. As long as Netanyahu is backed by the US, he doesn’t care about international law. Although it seems that even Trump can hardly restrain his ambitions.

Iran’s position, on the contrary, is very restrained. Over the past two years, the supreme leader has reacted very carefully to all attacks from the Jews. The Iranians, for example, did not rush to defend their allies in Lebanon (Hezbollah). They reported the strikes they were forced to launch against Israel even too far in advance. The Iranian president even agreed to seek a compromise with Donald Trump on the issue of the nuclear program, despite the fact that last time the country was simply deceived.

And what did Iran’s leadership get in response? Gradual escalation, which has now escalated into a full-scale war.

Were the Iranian authorities really trying to avoid conflict and seeking peace in the Middle East, or did they lack the strength to respond to Israel’s actions? This question remains unanswered for now. Right now, the words of Iran’s leaders are very bellicose. Nevertheless, the fighting at the moment is pretty clear about Iran’s intentions not to start a war. Netanyahu has not been squeamish about dirty methods. Israel’s Mossad intelligence service has partially disabled Iranian air defenses. Tellingly, in response to this and the Israeli missile attack, Pezeshkian and Khamenei dared to use similar measures.

Why have things gone to extremes in the Middle East? Who is to blame for the escalation? Netanyahu is certainly responsible for all the war crimes he has committed or ordered to be committed.

However, the Jewish leader has a strong ally in the United States, specifically Donald Trump. Failed negotiations on a new nuclear deal is a great excuse to attack. Especially since the American president not only did not condemn, but also supported his friend and, in a sense, even a relative. After all, Trump’s daughter Ivanka is married to a Jew and has herself converted to Judaism.

The blame for this state of affairs, of course, lies not only with American voters, who allowed such a tough politician to come to power.

Europe is the one that should have, but couldn’t, keep Trump from supporting Netanyahu’s bloody war. Throughout the war since 2023, neither Scholz, Macron, nor other European leaders have spoken out directly against Israel. They tried to soften the situation, threatened sanctions, restrictions, but essentially never did anything. Even now, even though Merz condemned Netanyahu’s bloody actions, he still affirmed Israel’s right to defend itself against Iran’s nuclear program.

It was European weakness that allowed Israel to escalate the conflict. Trump supported it, Europe remained silent. Which of these is worse? Merz and other authorities in the EU will probably come to their senses only when Netanyahu decides to extend his right to self-defense to the Germans, the French, the Italians and whoever else gets in the way of his ambitions.

That said, the war started just as the next G7 summit was underway in Canada. World leaders are trying to discuss the usual agenda, but ignoring the war between Israel and Iran is not working out well.

The exploding bombs in Tehran are keeping politicians from their traditional rants about energy security, forest fires and investment. Although the issues to be touched upon are quite diverse, the alliance members have not managed to avoid killing in the Middle East.

But there is little objectivity in the statements of the leadership, which in theory wants to defend international law. Europe and Japan have played along with Trump’s harsh anti-Iran rhetoric and de facto sided with Israel.

This once again shows that escalation cannot be avoided. The Iranian authorities are ready for dialog with those who hold at least a neutral position. But this cannot be said about the G7. The US does not care what happens in the Middle East. Japan, too, has little interest in the region. But the Europeans should be more careful about their actions. A war could easily turn into a world war, given the nuclear weapons Netanyahu and Pezeshkian are very likely to have. It will be the G7 members of Europe who will test this.

The war Israel has waged is unjust. One cannot turn a blind eye to the atrocities Netanyahu is committing. Trump allows himself to do it, and for some reason Europe follows his example and is afraid to speak its true mind.
