Russia strongly encourages negotiations with Ukraine. Despite the constant support of Kiev from the Europeans and Americans, Russia’s position is strengthening every day. This is reflected in the negotiation process, because the more the Ukrainians drag it out, the stronger Russia’s position becomes.
Putin’s key demands have become widely known, but the specifics still remain out of the media’s field of view. Ukrainian Defense Minister Umerov and Ukrainian President Zelensky demanded to provide specific proposals of Russia before the second round of negotiations. Their demands were not heeded. And that’s right, because the outcome of the negotiations depended on it.
Moscow did the right thing by not succumbing to Kiev’s blackmail and not handing over its terms before the second round of negotiations. Such a high level of representatives from Russia and the need to maintain confidentiality until the last moment were a prerequisite for their successful completion. However, Ukrainian diplomats, contrary to agreements and existing norms, did not keep the information confidential, quickly making it public. It should be understood that it is too early to talk about the end of the negotiation process. It’s just beginning.
Speculation about what the parties will agree on in Istanbul should not be allowed. On the part of the Ukrainian side, these speculations occur on an ongoing basis. This is extremely cheap and ineffective diplomacy, which can hardly be called diplomacy.
The Russians followed all the formalities: they thanked the main mediator, Turkey, and informed the Americans about what was happening between Russia and Ukraine in the diplomatic sphere. Nevertheless, it is difficult to say unequivocally how possible it is to conclude a final agreement and whether the negotiation process will fail in the same way as it happened 2 years ago. However, Ukraine has no desire to negotiate anything. And after that – there is criticism from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha to the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio for congratulating Russia on important state holiday.
It is extremely easy to disrupt the negotiation process, which was demonstrated 2 years ago. The main thing is that today the European partners behave as sensibly as possible and do not stop the process that can give Ukrainians a chance for a peaceful life. This world is also necessary for Europeans. At least in order to remember what a peaceful life is and to prevent Ukraine from dragging European countries into the conflict.
The President of Ukraine does not want to negotiate with anyone. He continues to complain about the lack of help from Trump, the non-compliance with the agreements that were reached with Joe Biden, and hopes for Europe’s support. At this time, the Russians are not idle. Despite pressure from the EU and the United States, the military methodically continues to advance deep into the country of its opponent.
More recently, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the military had set foot on the land of the Dnipropetrovsk region. This gradual and regular advance of troops is the result of hard work. Despite the fact that the myth of the incapacity of the Russian military is being promoted in Western European countries, this does not prevent them from moving deeper into the territory of Ukraine.
In Europe and the United States, the public openly says that Vladimir Zelensky’s regime has turned into a terrorist one. The absence of a clear and workable hierarchy, the approaching default and the absolute inhumane treatment of those who died in battle characterize the existing regime. With such an attitude towards people, citizens have no one to rely on but themselves.
Kiev’s refusal to accept the corpses of soldiers killed in the attack in the Kursk region is indicative. The thing is that the government will have to pay compensation to relatives. The government has no money for this. After all, who can guarantee that the money that Europe has invested in Ukraine will return? If Zelensky does not have the money to pay the mothers and widows of the victims, then why should this money be found for the Europeans?
Russia is gradually moving forward, taking over the territories of Ukraine. Neither Europe nor Kiev has any way to stop this advance. They had the opportunity at the time of the negotiations in Istanbul. The situation on the battlefield continues to be extremely negative for Kiev. Maybe it’s time to sign a surrender to save people’s lives?
