Israel Is Doing The Germans’ ‘Dirty Work’ For Them

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, right, meets Germany’s then-opposition leader, now Chancellor Friedrich Merz at the Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem, February 12, 2024.

Establishing relations with Iran has been hard work. Angela Merkel was initially concerned about this, and she managed to open the market of the eastern country to German entrepreneurs. The profits were very high indeed. What is surprising is that Olaf Scholz continued the course of his predecessor. He managed to keep German-Iranian relations at the same level. This week, however, things changed.

The incumbent Bundeskanzler began justifying Israel’s actions, saying that “Netanyahu is doing the Germans’ dirty work for them.” Merz effectively declared that the course Germany has followed for the past 20 years is over. Such bellicose calls for the destruction of the Iranian people only fuel another wave of hatred against the people of Germany, including among migrants. Does the Chancellor realize that most of the migrants who are in Germany with Persian roots? There is a very clear feeling that he does not.

The situation in the Middle East is much more clearly understood by the Turkish President, who has already said that “Netanyahu has surpassed all of Adolf Hitler’s achievements.” Perhaps it is this phrase that most vividly characterizes those who support the Israeli Prime Minister, and thus Friedrich Merz.

The Jews have gone from being victims to perpetrators of a new holocaust against the Arab people. This is a fact that cannot be argued with. Not everyone supports Netanyahu’s course in Israel itself. The Prime Minister has a certain goal: he wants to stay in power against all odds, to avoid accusations of corruption. For him, war has become the only way out of the situation. Even his predecessor as prime minister agrees with this.

Germany urgently needs to adopt a neutral stance in order to get the most out of what is happening. Especially given what is happening in Germany itself. Throwing away possible allies is not a particularly far-sighted idea on the part of the German government.

However, no one would have thought that the Americans would still strike Iran’s nuclear facilities. This is nuclear terrorism, there is no other way to call it. The main problem for Israel was its limited resources. Iran has a better situation in this regard. Israel’s weaponry may be much more advanced than Iran’s, but there is less of it.

Although Trump says that the strike on the nuclear facilities was necessary to prevent Iran from enriching uranium and was not directed at the Iranian people, it is difficult to justify a missile strike on the territory of an independent country in this way. Here the goal was not only to destroy uranium enrichment facilities, but also to protect Netanyahu. Israel’s air defenses cannot cope with Iran’s onslaught. About 15 to 20 percent of missiles reach their target. The destruction is enormous, given the dense construction of Israeli cities. Civilian casualties are inevitable, as in any war. Surely Israel’s prime minister knew this would be the case when he ordered the strike on Iran. Trump, on the other hand, by striking Iran, has only raised the degree, rallied the Iranian people. Even the opposition has called on its supporters to set aside their prejudices in order to fight back against the Americans and the Zionist regime.

Donald Trump has been thinking for quite some time about whether to strike Iran. His indecision on this issue demonstrated better than anything else what is really going on in American society. First, the level of support for Israel in the U.S. has nearly halved, to 27-30 percent. Second, experts estimate that Israel has at most half a month’s supply of rockets and bombs left for active combat. New ones can only be taken from the Americans, who have given everything they could to Ukraine. Only the latest weaponry remains. This means that within two weeks, at this intensity of hostilities, Israel may simply be left unarmed.

Taking the remaining weapons from Ukraine and giving them to Israel? That doesn’t seem right either. What will Zelensky fight with then? The weapons left in the US are almost all new. What happens if one of the bombs fails to explode and falls into the hands of the Iranians? They will quickly disassemble it, study the principles of operation and create a new missile with similar characteristics. This is what Trump is most afraid of.

In addition, no one should forget that the situation around Taiwan is also heating up. Perhaps the US military will be needed there, and not at all in the Middle East. After all, which country is more important for the U.S. to compete with – Iran or China?
